PURPOSE:

Occupational Health and Safety is the most important part of "Total Quality Management". It is an unwilling result that employees, the most important gears of the quality system, to have health problems or lose their lives while doing their labor. At the same time, eliminating the problems caused by the workers with various rules also affects the quality of the work.

Occupational Health and Safety is the most important piece of total quality. Human labour is superior to all the values. Quality is a whole with employee, working conditions, environmental and human conscience, product and service standards. There are the value given to human and human health behind the sustainability of this whole. Occupational Health and Safety; aims to implement an understanding that affects the efficiency of the total quality process with its concepts and rules. Quality can not be managed with ignoring employee and safety factor.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

Question: Who or what institutions provide workplace doctor and occupational safety expertise training?
Answer: public institutions and organizations, universities and institutions established by companies operating in accordance with the Turkish Commercial Code dated 13/1/2011 and numbered 6102 authorized by the Ministry to provide training for occupational safety specialists, workplace doctors, other medical personnel, can provide this training.

Question: What is the availability period of workplace doctor certificates?
Answer: Those who have a certificate of workplace doctor must participate in renewal training programs that will be organized by educational institutions at intervals of five years from the date of receipt of their documents. This training can not be less than 30 hours.

Question: Who can participate Occupational Safety expertise courses?
Answer: Engineers, architects and Technical Teachers, Bachelor's degree in Physics or chemistry of the faculties of Science and literature, graduates of Occupational Health and Safety program of vocational schools.

Question: Are the Occupational Safety expertise certificates received before 15.8.2009 from the Association of Turkish Chambers of Architects and Engineers valid?
Answer: Occupational Safety expertise is defined for the first time by law No. 4857. Thus, certificates received by the ministry since 2004 are valid.

Question: At the end of the training, the exams are conducted by who?
Answer: Exams of the candidates that conclude the program will be held by the Ministry.

Question: How often exams are held?
Answer: Exams are held in number of the General Directorate determined (2 or 3 times a year).

Question: Can workplace doctor or occupational safety expertisement carried out with the participation certificate received at the end of the training?
Answer: Occupational Safety Specialist certificate is given to engineers, architect, technical staff or occupational health and safety program graduates who participate in occupational safety expertise training and succeed in occupational safety expertise exam by General Directorate.

Workplace doctor certificate is given to doctors who have completed the workplace doctor training program and have succeeded in the examination conducted by the Ministry at the end of the training by General Directorate. Workplace doctor or occupational safety expertisement cannot be made with the participation certificate.

Question: Certificate is received by who after training and examination?
Answer: The certificate is received by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security Occupational Health and Safety General Directorate.

Question: How the category rise be in occupational safety experts?
Answer: Those who certify that they have served at least three years with a C Class Occupational Safety expertise certificate, and participate in B Class Occupational Safety expertise training and succeed in B Class Occupational Safety expertise exam can receive B class occupational safety specialist certificate.

Those who certify that they have served at least three years with a B Class Occupational Safety expertise certificate, and participate in A Class Occupational Safety expertise training and succeed in A Class Occupational Safety expertise exam can receive A class occupational safety specialist certificate.

Question: Will those who do not have a certificate of Occupational Safety Expertise but have worked in this field for years start with a C Class certificate?
Answer: Engineers, architects, technical staff or occupational health and safety program graduates who do not have a C Class certificate will start from C class certificate even if they have worked in this field.

Question: Can those who applied for A or B Class to ÇASGEM before the old regulation is revoked, make a claim in this?
Answer: New regulation is applied also for those who applied for A or B Class to ÇASGEM before the old regulation is revoked.

Question: Who prepares the exam questions?
Answer: Education and Examination Commission consisting of academicians selected by the General Directorate prepares exam questions and delivere to the Ministry of Education.

Question: What kind of questions are asked in exams?
Answer: Subjects described by the curriculum program announced by the ministry are asked in the exam.

Question: Is attending to classes compulsory?
Answer: Candidates must attend at least 90% of theoretical training and all practical training.

Question: Who determines the internship place?
Answer: Educational institution and participant determine together.

Question: Is there any criteria about the internship place?
Answer: Practical trainings are done in workplaces that have at least one occupational safety specialist for occupational safety specialist (certificate class of occupational safety specialist is not required) and at least one occupational doctor for occupational doctors.

Implementation part of training program can not be less than 40 hours.

Question: Is there any difference between the sertificate ÇASGEM (Center for Labour and Social Security Training and Research) within Ministry of Labour and Social Security issues and the sertificates education institutions in private sector issue?
Answer: No matter who gives the education, provided that they are in charge, those who succeed in the exam will receive certificate. There is not and legally difference of the paticipation certificate ÇASGEM, universities or private education institutions issue.

Question: How many points should be taken to considered as successful in the exam?
Answer: Candidates who get at least 70 out of 100 points in the exams are considered successful.

Question: How to make visa procedures when the certificate of expertise in workplace medicine and Occupational Safety expires?
Answer: Those who have a certificate of Occupational Safety Specialist, workplace doctor or other medical personnel must participate in renewal training programs five-year intervals from the date of receipt of their documents to be organized by educational institutions. After attending renewal trainings, application to the ministry with the document provided by the educational institution and the relevant fee is paid. After these procedures, the ministry makes visas to valid documents.

Question: Will the exam be taken again at the end of five years?
Answer: Those who have a certificate of Occupational Safety Specialist, workplace doctor or other medical personnel must participate in renewal training programs five-year intervals from the date of receipt of their documents to be organized by educational institutions. Only the renewal training program is compulsory.  The exam will not be taken again.

Question: What happens if 70 points are not get in the exam?
Answer: Candidates can participate in all relevant exams that held in three years from the date of last training they attend. Candidates who are not succeed in the exams or do not take the exam in three years of the training date have to participate training program again.
